On Saturday 28th November 2009, FAB held their fourth Christmas Buffet Dance, which again was well supported with members, their families and guests making 90 people in attendance. Representatives from Kent Air Ambulance, Heart of Kent Hospice, the Children's Liver Disease Foundation and Godden's Trustees were presented with cheques totalling £2,410.
The evening commenced from 7.30pm with music by Stephen and guests mingled and chatted, taking the opportunity to renew old acquaintances and meet new people. On the stroke of 9pm the MC, Charlie Marchant, took to the stage to start the formal proceedings.
The cheque presentations were made as follows; £200 to the Children's Liver Disease Foundation, presented by Kevin Rimell to James Adair, £630 to Heart of Kent Hospice, presented by Tracy Hann to Annie Baker, £580 to Godden's Trustees, presented by Kevin Bush to Jerry Hayes, and £1,000 to Kent Air Ambulance, presented by Nick Doig to Charlie Marchant.
Following this, Charlie had the usual fun with his envelope game, and then drew the children's raffle and thereafter the main raffle of the evening. A superb buffet was then enjoyed by all before the disco started again at 10pm and continued until 11.30.
A presentation of flowers was made to Jeanette on behalf of FAB for her hard work in preparing the buffet. Many thanks to all who supported the event, to Charlie for his hard work during the evening and to his company, Sugarman Group, who kindly donated raffle prizes. Thanks to Jeanette and the Working Men's Club team for looking after us, and to all FAB members who helped put up the decorations and cleared away afterwards. During the evening donations and raffle moneys raised a further £770 for our charitable purposes.
