THE EARLY BIRDS!!
11 bikes, 6 pillions and 1 car left Brookland Lake car park at 7.20am for a run
to Hastings. Heading through Maidstone we started to pass groups of friends and
clubs meeting on various points along the way. After about half an hour it was starting
to become nippy. We continued our journey into Hastings where we started to merge
with other riders.
Upon arriving in Hastings there was a good few bikes already in the car park, it proves
that yes the early biker catches the parking space and clean toilets!
First port of call breakfast consisting of an egg and bacon roll with a hot cup of coffee.
By this time there were bikes arriving left right and centre.
Despite the lack of sunshine we had a walk up and down to view every type of bike, scooter,
trike you name it it was there. We met up with the Norsemen MCC from Sussex who are
currently our tug-of-war champions from our 1st bike show. The boys hope to be there
with us this year.
During this time Dave and Mary managed to fit in a rock cake along the way! Who says the
oldies haven't got all their faculties as we managed to queue for 45 minutes getting
hungrier and hungrier whilst Dave and Mary were quite happy to wait!
We sat and watched the bikes passing whilst eating fish and chips before making our way to
the car park managing to miss the rain on the way home.
My thanks to Brett for joining us as a guest and hope to see him out with us on a regular basis.
It was good to see Brian W out on his trike, the first time this year.
Thanks to all you regular lot for joining in another fab ride out.
